Joan
Barton has 20 years of
NHS experience, starting in General Practice and moving
to Health Education where her specialism was smoking
cessation. She spent time at Solihull Health Authority,
introducing Health Education Programmes into General
Practice.
Joan's experience in General Practice management
includes responsibility for a £3M
GP fund during the fundholding period, and she was Practice
Manager representative on a commissioning group and a
member of several subgroups when PCTs were formed.
Christine
Dean has spent 35 years
in General Practice, from receptionist to Practice Manager,
and now advises in all aspects of practice management.
Her special interests include Emis LV software, chronic
disease management, management of Population Manager
and summarising training. Her experience enables her
to advise practice teams in surgeries without a practice
manager.
Peter
Mackenzie is a chartered
accountant and a member of the Institute of Health Care
Management, a fellow of the Chartered Management Institute
and AMSPAR. He has held senior financial positions in
accountancy, construction, public transport and local
government as well as the NHS. After a spell in hospital
finance he transferred to Primary Care and specialized
in Practice Management. His
special interest is the financial & business
aspects of general medical practice - helping GPs with
administration to keep their time free for practising
medicine.
